Pawley’s Island, SC

 

Pawley’s Island, SC is often referred to by its residents as “arrogantly shabby”. Pawley’s Island is said to be one of the oldest resort towns on the East Coast. Located just 70 miles north of Charleston, SC and about 20 miles south of Myrtle Beach, SC, Pawley’s Island is far enough away to enjoy a great secluded vacation, but close enough to be able to visit all of the nearby tourist attractions.

 

The island is less than four miles long and about a quarter mile wide. The beach is mostly private. Within 5 miles there are at least 10 golf courses. Many of the restaurants serve local catch seafood. Pawley’s Island golf vacations are popular in the winter and fall.
